Prometheus, a Cloud Native Computing Foundation project, is a systems and service monitoring system. It collects metrics from configured targets at given intervals, evaluates rule expressions, displays the results, and can trigger alerts if some condition is observed to be true.

Prometheus is written in Go. The 2.0.0 release announcement from November 8, 2017 details a number of improvements and advancements in the project, including an improved storage subsystem that reduces CPU usage. A current release is 2.7.1 of January 31, 2019.

Status of Prometheus

There are official releases for arm64 as part of the available downloads on Github. However, as of February 2019, there are not yet multiarch Docker containers available for Prometheus. Track the progress of that issue at multiarch support for Docker official image on Github.
